I just posted another Hub about staying motivated to work out. This was in response to a question that someone posted on that very topic. It was coincidental that the question was posted, because I had already planned on writing a hub about it. So, I just tweaked the title a bit to answer the question, and bam!
I've had my own issues in the past with motivation to exercise and stay in shape. It was easy in school when there was a team and a competition and a goal and a drive to win and a coach pushing you all the time. There was almost no need to motivate yourself because there were so many other things providing the motivation for you! And the fact that you are on a team, where others depend on you, is another huge motivator.
But in the real world, when you do everything on your own, you also have to provide the motivation on your own. And that's really not as easy as it sounds. There are so many things in every-day life that drain you of motivation, from stress, to work, to the house, to friends.... Life can get so busy, that finding that time for yourself is tough. And if you have kids, then the time you have is so precious because you have so little of it!
Over the years, I've tried to find ways to stay motivated to work out, and this post was based on some of the things that have worked for me in the past.
