Staying Motivated to Work Out

I just posted another Hub about staying motivated to work out. This was in response to a question that someone posted on that very topic. It was coincidental that the question was posted, because I had already planned on writing a hub about it. So, I just tweaked the title a bit to answer the question, and bam!

I've had my own issues in the past with motivation to exercise and stay in shape. It was easy in school when there was a team and a competition and a goal and a drive to win and a coach pushing you all the time. There was almost no need to motivate yourself because there were so many other things providing the motivation for you! And the fact that you are on a team, where others depend on you, is another huge motivator.

But in the real world, when you do everything on your own, you also have to provide the motivation on your own. And that's really not as easy as it sounds. There are so many things in every-day life that drain you of motivation, from stress, to work, to the house, to friends.... Life can get so busy, that finding that time for yourself is tough. And if you have kids, then the time you have is so precious because you have so little of it!

Over the years, I've tried to find ways to stay motivated to work out, and this post was based on some of the things that have worked for me in the past.

Backlinks

Part of the reason I'm starting this blog is to create back-links to my hubs. I just read a nice write-up on backlinks, and effective ways to use them. Blogging was one of them. I'm not sure how to know whether or not it's helping, but I think it will.

Back Pain and Muscle Injuries

So, my latest post on Hubpages is about back pain and muscle injuries. It's based on my own experience, and the research I did while I was in severe pain from a back injury. Surprisingly, this hub was easy to write, and I had more than I thought I would to say about the topic. Apparently, I learned a lot!

One of the things I wonder about is whether the stuff I put out there will be understood by others. I understand it, and I think I explain it well, but sometimes the questions and feedback I get on things I write at work make me wonder. Hopefully putting more content out there will trigger some feedback, and I'll be able to tweak things to make them better.

HubPages for Writing and Earning

I haven't written on this blog for a long time. Mostly that has to do with time. I still don't have any time, but I do need to make more money. In this interconnected world, I'm starting to think that it pays to be connected, interconnected, socialized, etc.

Of course, some of it is just plain shameless. I'm trying my hand at writing in order to make money. I'm doing this on Hubpages. It's a place where people can write, read others' writing, and possible earn money from the writing they do. I know from some of the articles I've already read that making money won't come quickly, but for some it does come. It just takes some persistence and patience. The easiest way, apparently, is to simply write about the things you like.

I guess we'll see how it goes.
